These services are being started in Uttar Pradesh from April 1, 2020.
The Department of Posts (Postal Department) will start offering many such services to citizens in Uttar Pradesh from April 1, which used to be available at the Common Service Center (CSC) till now. These services include services related to birth and death certificates, services related to voter ID, pension related services, employment related services, booking bus and plane tickets, etc., apart from Aadhaar-linked services.
Allahabad Superintendent Post Office Superintendent Sanjay D. Akhade told PTI that initially these services will be available in the Head Post Offices of the state and later they will be expanded. He said that the government has prepared to provide citizen-centric services from post offices across the country through CSC portal, under which these services are being started in Uttar Pradesh from April 1, 2020.
Applications of water, sewer connection will be possible
Apart from this, people will be able to take birth and death certificates, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, IRCTC ticket booking, labor registration and enrollment, NPS and self-reliance contribution and submission of applications for jobs. Akhade said that under B2C people will be able to avail the facility for mobile and DTH recharge, fastag purchase and topup, Tally software registration, ITI registration, online admission and scholarship.
He said that under public utility services, payment of electricity bill, application for new electricity connection, application of water and sewer connection will be accepted, while people will be able to file GST returns, TDS returns under IT returns. Senior Superintendent informed that for these services, 2 master trainers and 2 operators from 23 circles have been provided training by the people of CSC-SPV in Mysore recently.
Banega special purpose vehicle
Akhade said that for these services, a special venture named Common Service Center-Special Purpose Vehicle (CSC-SPV) has been formed which will work closely with the Department of Posts. For this purpose, the head post office at Parliament Street in New Delhi has been made the nodal office.
He informed that in view of better operation of passport services by the Department of Posts, the scope of services of Postal Department is being increased. Under the new services, citizens will be able to apply for PAN Card, PM Awas Yojana, Soil Health Card, Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, PDS etc.
