EPFO: There are most of the cases in which the withdrawal or transfer of funds was stuck in the EPFO system due to no date of leaving the company.
Good news for salaried! Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made it easier for salaried employees to withdraw or transfer money from the fund. For this, the EPFO has brought a new feature. In fact, most of the cases are in which the withdrawal or transfer of funds was stuck in the EPFO system due to no date of leaving the company. Now the Provident Fund Organization has started a new facility on the Unified Portal (UAN Portal) to solve this problem. Under this facility, the employee can update the date of leaving the previous company himself. Till date, the employer had the right to enter or update the date of joining the company of the employee and leave.
Many times the employees did not update the date of leaving the company in their records or the company closed down where the employees used to work earlier. If the exit date i.e. the date of leaving the company is not recorded, then other claims including withdrawal and transfer of PF money will be delayed.
Log-in to be done on EPFO’s UAN portal
On the UAN portal, the employee will have to log in by logging on his Universal Account Number (UAN) and password to register the company’s leaving date. But before entering the exit date, it must be checked that it is already registered in the system or not, to know the exit date, go to ‘View’ on the top panel and click on ‘Service History’. In this way, if the date of leaving the company is already recorded, then you will know.
How to enter Exit Date on UAN Portal
First click on ‘My Account’ on the top panel and click on ‘Mark Exit’ in it.
Select the company from this on the next page below. On its next page, you will have to enter the date of birth, the date of joining the company and the date of leaving the company. Enter after this.
Here employees can choose a date for the last month of contribution. To know the last month of PF contribution, you can go to the top panel of EPFO. Here member id, company name, information about the last month of contribution will be received from the company.
OTP will be verified on mobile number
Normally, if you have left the company before the 15th of the month, then the exit date should be written on the date recorded on your letter. Also know that OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number with Aadhaar. If there is a separate mobile number in the EPFO record, then OTP will not come on it.
Also note that if you have recently left the job, then you will have to wait for 2 months to enter the exit date. This is because the exit date can be updated only months after the last contribution by the company.
