If you travel by train, during the reservation, definitely choose the option of 49 paise. This small option can help a lot. In fact, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) provides the option of travel insurance on train tickets to railway passengers. You do not need to pay a huge amount to take this insurance. The Railways demand a small amount of only 49 paise.
IRCTC provides travel insurance of up to Rs 10 lakh in this small amount. In case of any untoward incident with the passenger during the train journey, the passenger and his family get the benefit. Travel insurance is optional for three or three. If he wants, he can take advantage of this facility by paying 49 paise.
How to take?
Travel insurance is an option during train ticket booking through IRCTC website or app. For this, 49 money has to be paid. When the ticket is booked, a link comes on the passenger’s mobile to give the nominee details via SMS or e-mail or both. By clicking on it, the information of the nominee can be filled by going directly to the website of the insurance company.
Benefit will be given only on confirmed ticket

Travel insurance is not a benefit for those with waiting list e-tickets. Also, there is no benefit of travel insurance for children below 5 years of age.
