These days BSNL is giving a tough challenge to the private telecom companies in every matter. Government telecom company is soon going to launch Live TV service IFTV, in which more than 500 live TV channels will be shown for free. BSNL is currently testing this service in Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu telecom circles. Recently the company had unveiled its new logo and slogan. In this event, the company also announced its live TV service, in which users will get access to more than 500 live TV channels without any extra charge.

Open challenge to Jio

This new service of BSNL is going to have the biggest impact on JioTV+. Mukesh Ambani’s telecom company is currently offering this service to its fiber broadband users in which users can watch many digital live TV for free. However, BSNL has made it clear that its live TV service will be unique in itself. The company has described its IFTV as the first in the industry.

JioTV+ service mainly works on HLS based streaming model, which is mainly designed for internet users. Users can access Jio’s live TV channels as per their internet plan. BSNL’s Live TV service does not consume data from the users’ broadband plan. BSNL’s live TV service continues to work even when there is no internet service.

To access this service of BSNL, Android users can download the company’s Live TV app directly from Google Play Store. This app works only on Android Smartphone TV. However, there are also reports coming out that BSNL is going to integrate Live TV with the company’s commercial fiber-to-the-home (FTTH). Apart from this, Video on Demand (VoD) service will also be available for BSNL users, which will be integrated in the company’s app.

How to use BSNL Live TV

For this you have to download BSNL Live TV app in your Android smart TV. After downloading and installing the app, users will have to enter their registered mobile number for BSNL Live TV service. After logging into the app, users will be able to access more than 500 favorite live TV channels. Apart from this BSNL has announced direct-to-device. Users will be able to communicate without any mobile tower or SIM card. For this direct-to-device service of BSNL, the company has partnered with Viasat.
