The government has once again issued a new warning to Google Chrome users. Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the emergency security wing of the Central Government, has issued this high security warning regarding Google’s web browser. Due to a flaw in this web browser used in smartphones and laptops, personal data of users can get into the hands of hackers and a big fraud can be committed.

CERT-In said in its warning that hackers can remotely access users’ laptops, computers or smartphones by taking advantage of this flaw in Google Chrome browser. Not only this, hackers can also crash the app by using arbitrary codes. In simple language, hackers will be able to access any app on your smartphone and make it crash, so that you have trouble using it.
The emergency response team also said that users using Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems are most at risk. At present, about 70 percent of the users all over the world use Google Chrome browser. This browser is used on Android as well as iOS devices. Not only this, it is also the most used browser for PC users. In such a situation, more and more users can be affected by this flaw.
How to avoid?
- To avoid this problem, users must first update the latest version of their Google Chrome browser.
- Users can easily update this browser in their computer or smartphone.
- Google removes the flaws of its browser in new updates.
- For Android or iOS users, to update your Google Chrome app, go to the App Store and check its latest version.
- When the latest update is available, download it immediately and relaunch the app.
- By doing this the browser will be updated with the latest version.
- PC users will have to open Google Chrome to update the browser.
- After this, you will have to click on the three dots on the top right side and go to Settings.
- After this, check the new update by clicking on About Chrome and download it if available.
- After this launch Google Chrome browser again.
- By doing this Google Chrome will be updated in your device.
