Many Samsung smartphone and smartwatch users are at risk of major cyber attacks. The government has issued a warning for these users. Indian Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued this warning regarding Samsung smartphone and Galaxy Watch users. The government agency has detected a major flaw in the processors of these smartphones and smartwatches, due to which users’ data can fall into the hands of cyber criminals.
Danger of major cyber attack
The South Korean brand is the largest smartphone selling company worldwide. Samsung sells its smartphones in every price range in many countries of the world. In such a situation, millions of users may be affected due to this cyber attack. CERT-In has issued a warning to the users using Samsung devices, saying that a major flaw has been detected in the processor of the company’s smartphones and smartwatches, due to which hackers can execute arbitrary code in the device.
The government agency has further said in its warning that this bug in the processors of these mobile and wearable devices of Samsung has come due to use-after-free privilege escalation. This type of security risk needs to be fixed immediately. It is possible that hackers may have taken advantage of the flaw in Samsung devices by now. CERT-In has advised users to install the latest security patches in their Samsung mobile devices.

Threat to these devices
Samsung smartphones which have Exynos 9820, Exynos 9825, Exynos 980, Exynos 990 and Exynos 850 processors are at risk of major cyber attacks. At the same time, this threat also exists in smartwatches with Samsung Exynos W920 wearable processor.
Samsung smartphone users, go to your phone’s settings, go to About Phone and check your processor. If you are using a phone with any of these processors, then you will have to update your phone with the latest patch. For this, you will have to go to the phone’s settings and check Software Update.
