Once again the service of Metro came to a standstill for several hours all over the world including India. Late Wednesday night, Meta-owned Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp suddenly stopped working. This was not the first time that users faced such a problem. There have been several times in 2024 when Meta services have been disrupted.
After the global outage of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, users faced further problems in accessing the apps. After the outage, a large number of users also complained about it on different platforms. DownDetector, a website that tracks outages of different websites, also confirmed the closure of Meta’s service.

According to Downdetector, more than one lakh customers complained about the outage of Facebook. More than 70 thousand people filed reports regarding Instagram. Thousands of users also complained about WhatsApp.

The problem of global outage of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp started late on Wednesday night at around 11.30 pm. During this time, users faced problems in logging into the app, sending messages and receiving messages. As soon as WhatsApp services were disrupted, users shared this problem on microblogging platform X. Due to the outage, WhatsApp users also faced problems in linking their app to other devices.
A tweet was also made by Meta regarding the simultaneous global outage on all three platforms. In this the company wrote that we know that due to some technical problems, some users are having difficulty accessing the apps. The company also clarified that we are trying to fix it as soon as possible. Meta also apologized to its users for this problem.
