Your location can be tracked during a call on WhatsApp. However, you can prevent yourself from location tracking by making certain settings in your phone. Internet is required to make WhatsApp calling. During a call, one can connect from one device to another through WhatsApp. Many times scammers can make audio video calls to you through WhatsApp. In such a situation, you can stop location tracking by using this feature.

IP address in-calls feature

This instant messaging platform of Meta has a feature called Protect IP Address in Calls. After enabling this feature, your location cannot be tracked during a call. This feature provides an additional security layer to WhatsApp communication.

Enable it like this

  • To enable this feature, first launch WhatsApp in your phone.
  • Now tap on the three dots at the top of the home page.
  • After this go to Settings and Privacy feature of WhatsApp.
  • Here you will get the option of Advanced. Tap on it and proceed further.
  • In the next window you will get the option of Protect IP address in-calls.
  • Turn on this feature.

By doing this, your IP address will remain hidden from the receiver during the call. Due to this, location tracking will stop.
