Let us tell you that after completing the visit to Brazil, PM Modi has reached Guyana for three days. The reach of this visit is important because here India will participate in the summit of CARICOM countries. This will be India’s second summit with CARICOM, the group of island countries of the Caribbean Sea.

The President arrived to welcome the entire cabinet
Guyana President Irfan Ali and over 12 cabinet ministers welcomed Prime Minister Modi at the airport. This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Guyana in more than 50 years. Modi is visiting Guyana at the invitation of President Mohammad Irfan Ali and will stay here till November 21. During his visit, Modi will meet President Ali and discuss the strategic direction to the unique relationship between the two countries. He will also address the Parliament of Guyana. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, there are approximately 3,20,000 people of Indian origin in Guyana.

meeting with caribbean partners
Modi will also meet leaders of Caribbean partner countries at the second India-CARICOM summit. The Prime Minister is on a three-nation visit, including a visit to Nigeria where he held bilateral talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and interacted with the Indian community. After a two-day visit to Nigeria, Modi reached Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro city on Sunday where he met President Lula da Silva on the sidelines of the G20 summit and praised Brazil for various efforts made during its presidency of the G20.
PM said- friendship will become stronger
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Guyana and said that his visit will deepen the friendship between the two countries. This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Guyana in more than 50 years. Modi was welcomed at the airport by Guyana President Irfan Ali, his counterpart Mark Anthony Phillips and more than 12 cabinet ministers, while at the hotel he was attended by Grenada Prime Minister Deacon Mitchell and Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley. The Ministry of External Affairs said in another post that on reaching the hotel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a special welcome by the President of Guyana Dr. Mohammed Irfan, Prime Minister of Grenada Deacon Mitchell, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mormotley and several Cabinet Ministers of Guyana. The Ministry of External Affairs said the Prime Minister was handed over the ‘Key to the City of Georgetown’ by the Mayor of Georgetown, reflecting the close India-Guyana relations.
