Georgetown (Guyana): After Nigeria and Guyana, now Dominica has also honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the country’s highest award. Guyana and Dominica have given this award to PM Modi for the help and other contributions given to both the Caribbean nations during the Covid-19 pandemic. Both countries have given this top award to PM Modi for his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with India. Now the number of such international awards with PM Modi has increased to 19, which no other former PM in India has.

Let us tell you that Prime Minister Modi is in Guyana in the last leg of his three-nation tour. He was awarded the ‘Order of Excellence’ by Guyana President Irfan Ali on Wednesday. “Heartfelt thanks to President Dr. Irfaan Ali for conferring on me Guyana’s highest honour, ‘The Order of Excellence’,” he said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’. This is for 140 crore people of India. “The President of Guyana, Dr. Mohammed Irfan, honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Guyana’s highest national award ‘The Order of Excellence’ for his extraordinary service to the global community, leadership and contribution to deepening India-Guyana relations.” According to the ministry, Modi is the fourth foreign leader to be honored with Guyana’s highest national award.

Dominica gave this award

Earlier, the Prime Minister was presented with the “Dominica Award of Honour” by the President of Dominica, Sylvanie Burton, during the India-CARICOM Summit on Wednesday. “I am honored to be presented with Dominica’s highest national award,” Modi said in a post on social media platform ‘X’. I dedicate this to the 140 crore people of India.” The Prime Minister said in another post, ”This honor is dedicated to my sisters and brothers of India. It also reflects the unbreakable ties between our countries.” The Ministry of External Affairs said in a post on ‘X’, ”This award is in recognition of the leadership of the Prime Minister and the help given to Dominica during the COVID-19 pandemic by India. -Dominica for their commitment to strengthening relations.

PM Modi expressed gratitude to Roosevelt

Responding to a post by Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, PM Modi said, “Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, I am overwhelmed by your words. With humility and gratitude, I accept the ‘Dominica Award of Honour’.” You talked about the support received during COVID-19. It fills my heart with joy to see how our solidarity during COVID-19 has strengthened ties across borders and continents. We will continue to work closely with Dominica in the times to come.
