Peshawar: Seeing the situation prevailing in Pakistan, America has become alert. The US Embassy here has issued a security alert asking its citizens not to visit Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan, till December 16 due to “security concerns”. America has issued a security alert titled ‘Threat to Serena Hotel, Peshawar’. US Embassy personnel have been advised to avoid visiting this hotel in Peshawar and exercise caution.
What did the US Embassy say?
“US citizens are advised to avoid hotels and surrounding areas during this period and reconsider travel plans,” the US Embassy statement said. They are reminded of the ongoing advisory advising them not to travel to the concerned province due to terrorism.
Protests took place in Pakistan
Meanwhile, let us also tell here that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party had protested demanding the release of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. During this period, many protesters have been killed and after reports of an alleged attempt to hide it, an Indian-American lawmaker has demanded a ban on visas of senior Pakistani officials and confiscation of their assets.
