Amid growing concerns over the treatment of minorities in Bangladesh, a new petition has been filed demanding a ban on the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in the country.
The Bangladesh High Court on Thursday refused to pass an order banning the activities of the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in the country. The bench stressed the need for the government to ensure law and order and protect the life and property of the citizens of Bangladesh.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday said attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh show that the interim government of that country is in the “clutches of fundamentalists”. He asked the United Nations to intervene in this matter. Condemning the arrest of a Hindu leader in Bangladesh, he said such attacks are against humanity. The BJP, however, refrained from commenting in this regard and said it stood by the “appropriate stand” taken by the External Affairs Ministry on the issue. India on Tuesday expressed “deep concern” over the arrest of Das in Bangladesh and denial of bail to him and appealed to the Bangladeshi authorities to ensure the safety of Hindus and all minorities.
