Big news is coming out from the ongoing BRICS conference in Kazan city of Russia. A bilateral meeting is going to be held between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday. Let us tell you that many leaders including PM Modi, Xi Jinping have come to participate in the BRICS conference. Relations between India and China were tense after the Galwan clash between India and China in the year 2020. However, now the talks between the two countries are back on track.
Foreign Secretary gave information
India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has given information about the meeting to be held between PM Modi and Xi Jinping in Russia. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that I can confirm that tomorrow (Wednesday) there will be a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.
Agreement reached on LAC
Earlier, Indian and Chinese military negotiators have reached an agreement regarding the ongoing border dispute in eastern Ladakh. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri informed on Monday that an agreement has been reached between the two countries regarding patrolling on LAC. Negotiators from India and China have been in touch on this issue in the last few weeks. Vikram Misri has said that the recent agreement is leading to disengagement between the two countries and ultimately resolving the issues that had arisen in these areas in the year 2020.
PM Modi also met the President of Iran
PM Modi has also met Iranian President Pezeshkian in Russia. In this meeting, PM Modi expressed deep concern over the increasing conflict in West Asia and reiterated India’s call for prevention and protection of civilians. PM Modi stressed the need for dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions. Regarding the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that it was good.
India will open a consulate in Kazan
The BRICS summit will be held in Kazan city of Russia on 23 and 24 October. PM Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin met before the BRICS Summit in Kazan. During bilateral talks with Putin, PM Narendra Modi thanked Russia for its warm hospitality. He mentioned India’s historical relations with the city of Kazan and informed that India is opening a new Consulate in Kazan.
