New York (USA): Yemen’s Houthis have now entered the war with Hezbollah. Yemen’s Houthis today launched a missile attack on central Israel for the second time, after a massive Israeli attack on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon for the past several days. However, Israel has shot down this missile fired from Yemen. Following the attack, air raid sirens were sounded throughout the central region of the country. The Israeli army gave this information. The sound of air raid sirens was heard in Israel’s densely populated central region, including the coastal city of Tel Aviv. About two weeks ago, another missile was fired from Yemen into central Israel. It covered this distance in about 9 minutes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue attacks against Hezbollah with “full force” until it stops firing rockets from across the border. Netanyahu’s announcement dashed hopes of a ceasefire proposal presented by US and European officials. Upon arriving in New York to attend the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, Netanyahu said Israel’s “policy is clear.” “We continue to attack Hezbollah with full force and we will not stop until we achieve all our objectives, the foremost of which is the return of residents of the northern region safely to their homes.”
Hezbollah commander killed
The Israeli military said it killed Hezbollah drone commander Mohammed Hussein Suroor in an airstrike in the suburbs of Beirut. Hezbollah later confirmed Suroor’s death. The Health Ministry said two people were killed and 15 injured in the attack. Photos of the scene released by The Associated Press showed burning apartments in a residential building in Dahiyah, a predominantly Shia suburb where Hezbollah has a strong presence. Israel’s latest attack on the Lebanese capital left a senior Hezbollah commander dead and the terrorist group fired several rockets targeting Israel.
Israel intensified attacks on Lebanon
Thousands of civilians living in the border areas of Israel and Lebanon have been displaced due to this fighting. Nearly 700 people have been killed in Lebanon this week as Israel intensified attacks on Hezbollah targets. Israel says it is targeting Hezbollah military bases. Israeli leaders say they are determined to stop the group’s cross-border attacks. The war in Gaza erupted after Hamas’ October 7 attack and Hezbollah launched attacks in support of the group. (AP)
