Deir al-Balah. Four soldiers were killed and seven others seriously injured in a Hezbollah drone strike on a military base in central Israel. The military said it was the deadliest attack by the militant group since Israel began ground attacks on Lebanon nearly two weeks ago. Lebanon’s Hezbollah described the attack near the town of Binyamina as revenge for Israeli attacks on Beirut on Thursday, which killed 22 people. It later said it targeted Israel’s Golani Brigade and fired dozens of missiles at Israeli air defense systems during drone strikes.
Israel’s National Rescue Service said 61 people were injured in the attack. Fighting has occurred almost daily between Hezbollah and Israel since the war in Gaza began. Israeli air strikes in Gaza on Sunday night killed at least 20 people, including children from a school, according to two local hospitals. Many Palestinians displaced by the war had taken shelter in Nusrat’s school. Meanwhile, an explosion occurred outside the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah on Monday. The hospital said three people died and about 50 others were injured in the blast. Tents caught fire and people from the central Gaza community took the injured to hospital.
