Hurricane Milton: A major storm is going to hit America for the second time in 10 days. An alert has been issued in Florida regarding Hurricane Milton. The National Hurricane Center has placed it in Category 5 of the most destructive storms. There is a risk of huge loss of life and property due to this category of storm. Hurricane Milton may hit Tampa Bay, Florida on Wednesday i.e. today. Authorities ordered more than 1 million people to evacuate the Tampa Bay area due to the storm, resulting in massive traffic jams and fuel shortages.

The storm is expected to cause waves 10 to 15 feet high on beaches north and south of Tampa Bay. The US National Hurricane Center has forecast 254 mm or more of rain, with the risk of flooding also remaining. Air traffic has been badly affected due to the storm, with around 900 domestic and international flights delayed. More than 1,500 flights scheduled for Wednesday have been cancelled.
Coastal areas in Florida were evacuated
Hurricane Milton is currently passing through the Gulf of Mexico. Till Tuesday the speed of the storm was about 285 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, coastal areas in Florida have been evacuated. About 5 lakh people have been evacuated to safe places. Earlier, Hurricane Helen had caused devastation in America. At least 225 people lost their lives due to Hurricane Helen.
Biden postponed trip to Germany and Angola
The White House said President Joe Biden has postponed a trip to Germany and Angola due to the storm. US President Joe Biden urged people who have been ordered to evacuate immediately before Hurricane Milton makes landfall in Florida. He said it could be the worst hurricane to hit Florida in more than a century. (Reuters)
