India is increasing military strength, threatening to cross LoC; Know what else nervous Shahbaz Sharif said in UN

Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif

United Nations: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif once again raised the issue of Kashmir in his annual address to the United Nations General Assembly on Friday. Sharif accused India of “large scale expansion of military capability”, threatening to cross the Line of Control (LoC) to capture Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The Prime Minister of Pakistan said that India should withdraw the decision to abrogate Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. He also accused India of trying to subjugate its Muslim population and destroy Islamic heritage. Pakistan has earlier also been raising the Kashmir issue in the annual address of the United Nations. It is expected that India can use its right of reply to protest against Sharif’s allegations.

Jammu and Kashmir compared with Palestine

PM Sharif said that like the people of Palestine, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have also been struggling for a long time for their freedom and right to self-determination. Referring to India’s decision to abrogate most of the provisions of Article 370, Sharif said that to ensure lasting peace, “India will have to roll back the unilateral and illegal steps of August 2019 and respect the UN security resolutions and the rights of the Kashmiri people.” As per the wishes, talks will have to be started for a peaceful solution to the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sharif gave speech for 20 minutes

Shahbaz Sharif, in his nearly 20-minute speech, claimed that instead of moving towards peace, India has gone back from its commitments to implement the Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “These proposals call for holding a referendum to enable the people of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their fundamental right to self-determination.”

‘India is increasing military capabilities’

“What is more worrying is that it is engaged in massive expansion of its military capabilities which is essentially against Pakistan,” the Prime Minister of Pakistan said while addressing the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Sharif said, “Let me make it clear that Pakistan will give a decisive response to any Indian aggression.” Shahbaz Sharif also mentioned the situation in Gaza, Ukraine and Afghanistan. Pakistan’s Prime Minister criticized ‘Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza’, a dangerous conflict in Ukraine, devastating conflicts in Africa and Asia, rising geopolitical tensions, re-emergence of terrorism, rapidly increasing poverty, severe debt and growing threat of climate change. Mentioned the impact. Sharif also said, “Today, we are facing the most difficult challenges in terms of world order.”
