Israel continues attacks in Gaza, Lebanon

Israel continued heavy bombardment of northern Gaza on Saturday, hours after air strikes killed at least 22 people. Israel continues to ask people in Gaza and southern Lebanon to evacuate the areas where its attacks against terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah continue.

In Lebanon, the United Nations peacekeeping force said its headquarters in Nakoura was again attacked late Friday, with one peacekeeper shot at. He said that the condition of the soldier is stable.

However, no clear information has been given about who fired the bullet. The shooting came a day after Israeli forces opened fire on the headquarters of the UN peacekeeping force for the second consecutive day.

Israel, which had warned the peacekeepers to leave their positions, did not immediately react to the attack. Residents of northern Gaza say they have not received relief aid since the beginning of the month, leading to a food crisis.

The United Nations World Food Program said no food aid has reached northern Gaza since October 1. It is estimated that 400,000 people are still living there.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf visited the site hit by Israeli air strikes in Beirut on Saturday and said, “We will stand with the Lebanese people and the Palestinian people in these difficult circumstances.”
