Lahore: Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, the culprit of Mumbai terror attacks and deputy chief of banned terrorist organization Jamaat-ud-Dawa, has died. It is being told that Makki died due to a heart attack. According to Pakistani media, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki has died of a heart attack.
Makki was the deputy chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawa
According to information, Makki was a relative of Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed and the deputy chief of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa. According to Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), Professor Abdul Rehman Makki was ill for the past few days and was being treated at a private hospital in Lahore.
The sentence was pronounced in the year 2020
A JuD official said Makki suffered a heart attack this morning and breathed his last in the hospital. Makki, a relative of JuD chief Hafiz Saeed, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment by an anti-terrorism court in 2020 in a terrorism financing case. Makki was the deputy chief of JuD and was not much talked about after his sentencing in a terrorism case.
Was declared a global terrorist in the year 2023
Pakistan Muttahida Muslim League (PMML) said in a statement that Makki was a supporter of Pakistani ideology. Makki was designated a global terrorist by the United Nations in 2023, subjecting him to asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo.
