Kathmandu: Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has started playing the trumpet of China completely. On Sunday, he made a big announcement in favor of China. KP Oli, who had spoiled his relations with India during his previous tenure, has once again become fond of China in this tenure. KP Oli said that anti-China activities will not be allowed in the country and it supports the ‘One China’ policy. Oli made the remarks at a meeting with a high-level Chinese delegation led by Communist Party of China Central Committee member Chen Jining.
The meeting took place at the official residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Baluwatar, Kathmandu. Reaffirming Nepal’s commitment to the ‘One China’ policy, Oli told the delegation that no anti-China activity would be allowed within Nepal’s border. China claims that the breakaway country Taiwan is its part and it is mandatory for all countries having diplomatic relations with China to follow the ‘One China’ policy.
Oli hoping for support from China
Oli, who made such a big announcement during the meeting for Beijing, now hopes for continued support from China for Nepal’s economic development. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, talks were also held on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) parties. Oli is the president of CPN (UML) and is seen as a pro-China leader. (Language)
