The Pakistani Army said in a statement that recently a contract has been signed to sell JF-17 Block-3 fighter aircraft to Azerbaijan. According to the news of ‘Dan’ newspaper, it is believed that this agreement was signed in February this year. Azerbaijan media reports claim that a US$1.6 billion deal has been signed for aircraft, weapons and training. It has not been made clear how many aircraft have been purchased under the deal.

Earlier on Wednesday, after the aircraft were formally handed over to President Ilham Aliyev at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the Presidential Office of Azerbaijan had said in a statement, “These jets have already been included in the fleet of the Azerbaijan Air Force.” Is.” Not only this, President Aliyev was also given information about the planes in a ceremony organized on the occasion of Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition 2024 in Baku.
