The crash blocked traffic on Interstate Highway 684 in Harrison, about 40 kilometers northeast of Manhattan, around 7 p.m. Video from the scene showed the damaged white plane parked near the guardrail in the median as emergency vehicles blocked traffic.
Governor Kathy Hochul said Department of Environmental Protection personnel were on scene to clean up fuel from the plane after the crash. “My condolences to the victims’ loved ones during this tragic incident and I am praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” Hochul said in a statement.
