On Saturday, unidentified gunmen ambushed two separate convoys of security forces in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, injuring 16 soldiers including an officer.
Officials said gunmen attacked a convoy of security forces in Sarwekai area of South Waziristan district, injuring 11 security personnel. An officer of Captain rank is also among the injured.
Another attack took place near the Darra Tung check post in Lakki Marwat district when the convoy was moving from Karak district to a nuclear power project site in Kabul Khel, he said. Five soldiers were injured in this attack.
