Just as the rivers of Guyana are a part of the cultural identity of its people, India’s great rivers like the Ganga, Yamuna and Brahmaputra have been the birthplace of our ancient civilization… There are many such examples of similarities between India and Guyana. Which further deepens our historical ties.

In fact, Prime Minister Skerrit had said in his post on Twitter that during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, you sent 70,000 AstraZeneca vaccines which gave new life to the people of Dominica. Skerritt said the honor is more than a symbol. This is to honor your enduring legacy of leadership, your commitment to humanity, and the indelible mark you have left on our country and beyond your borders. Barbados will also present its highest award to Prime Minister Modi, taking the number of international honors bestowed on Modi to 19. Dominica had announced giving its highest award to Modi just a few days ago.
