Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Kazan city of Russia on Tuesday to participate in the 16th BRICS summit. This is a two-day (22-23 October) visit of PM Modi to Russia. Where he will participate in the 16th BRICS summit to be held in Kazan city under the chairmanship of Russia. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and invited leaders of BRICS member countries in Kazan.

PM Modi will be in Russia on 22-23 October. The Ministry of External Affairs is working on a bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Chinese President Jinping. Sharing details of the BRICS summit, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that along with the founding members, new members will also participate in the event. The summit will begin on October 22 and there will be a dinner for the leaders on the evening of the first day.

The main day of the summit is 23 October (Wednesday). There will be two main sessions on this day. There will be a closed plenary session in the morning followed by an open plenary session in the afternoon. Which will be the main topic discussed at the 16th BRICS summit.

New initiative with China to resolve border dispute

An agreement has been reached between India and China before the BRICS conference. A new initiative has been taken to resolve the border dispute that has been going on since 2020. The border tension that has been going on for 52 months in eastern Ladakh between India and China has been resolved. After exercises at the military and diplomatic level between the two countries, an agreement has been reached to reduce patrolling and military tension on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Announcing the decision, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that since the incidents along the Line of Actual Control in 2020, we were in constant touch with the Chinese side at military and diplomatic levels. Several rounds of talks have taken place between the two countries at the WMCC and military commander level.
