Police raid in South Korea's President's office, huge battle created due to 'martial law'

South Korean police have raided the President’s office. This action has been taken as part of the ongoing criminal investigation against President Yoon Suk-yeol. The President has been charged with rebellion in connection with the imposition of martial law. According to officials’ information, President Sun has not been arrested yet nor has he been interrogated.

Let us tell you that the Special Investigation Team has taken action against the President’s Office, National Police Agency, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and National Assembly Security Service in the criminal investigation case. What happened in South Korea?

President Yun Suk-yeol had announced the imposition of ’emergency martial law’ in the country on December 3. He accused the opposition of dominating Parliament, sympathizing with North Korea and destabilizing the government with anti-national activities. Hours later, Parliament voted to nullify the declaration, with National Assembly Speaker Woo Won Shik declaring that lawmakers “will defend democracy together with the people.”
