QUAD Summit 2024: Biden will personally pay special attention to Asia-Pacific diplomacy, preparations are complete

Joe Biden

Wilmington: When President Joe Biden hosts the leaders of Australia, Japan and India in his hometown on Saturday, the main focus will be on the Asia-Pacific Partnership. When Biden entered the White House or rather when he became President, the Quad member countries used to meet only at the foreign minister level. Biden has tried to transform this group into a top-level partnership. The result has been that the attitude of American foreign policy has changed.

Biden showed interest

This summit of the Quad is the fourth individual summit of the (Quad) leaders since 2021 and the sixth overall. Biden has shown personal interest in this meeting. It is believed that this will be Biden’s last meeting of the group before leaving office on January 20. Biden can be said to have opened his home in Wilmington, Delaware to each leader. A joint meeting and formal dinner will also be organized by Biden at the high school where he studied more than 60 years ago.

Biden welcomes Australia’s PM

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has arrived in the US. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida are due to arrive in the US. On Friday afternoon, Biden welcomed Albanese to his sprawling home on a pond in a wooded area several miles west of the city. On Saturday, he is also scheduled to host Kishida and Modi there, followed by consultations with all the leaders at Archmere Academy in nearby Claymont. News reporters and photographers have not been allowed to cover Biden’s individual meetings with leaders and Biden will not hold any press conferences. (AP)
