Continuous torrential rains in Nepal have caused devastation. So far 112 people have died due to the floods that occurred after the rains. Many parts of Nepal have been inundated due to rain since Friday, due to which disaster officials have issued a flash flood warning. People affected by the flood are being sent to safe places. Amidst all this, Nepal’s Education Ministry has decided to close all educational institutions for three days in view of the chaos caused by torrential rains.
Search for missing people continues
According to Nepal Police and APF, 112 people have died so far due to continuous rain. Many people are still reported missing and are being searched. More than 3,000 people have been saved so far. The official said that main highways are blocked at 63 places across the country. Due to rain, thousands of people in Nepal have been displaced to safer places. Roads, localities, shops and establishments have been flooded at many places. Traffic has also been blocked due to roads being submerged. Hundreds of houses have been damaged. Cars and houses are submerged in water.
Rescue team of 3,000 security personnel deployed
Nepal Police said that 226 houses have been submerged in Kathmandu. A rescue team of about 3,000 security personnel has been deployed by Nepal Police in the flood affected areas. People are being sent to safe places amid the rain. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal on Friday canceled all domestic flights till Saturday morning due to bad weather conditions in the country. This came as Nepal’s weather forecasting division has issued a red alert for four consecutive days. 56 out of 77 districts of Nepal are in the grip of heavy rains.
