Moscow: Russia’s Dagestan has once again been shaken by loud explosions. At least 13 people died in the worst explosion at a gas station here. While many people are feared to be injured. This explosion occurred at a time when the employees at the gas service station were busy in their work. Russian officials gave this information on Saturday. Russia’s emergency ministry said an explosion at a service station on the outskirts of the regional capital Makhachkala on Friday caused a massive fire, which spread to the station’s canteen.
By the time the fire was brought under control, 13 people had died. According to the ministry, two children are also among the dead. After hard work the fire has been brought under control. Makhachkala is about 1,600 kilometers south of Moscow. Regional officials said a criminal investigation had been launched and Saturday was declared a day of mourning in Dagestan. Last August, 35 people were killed and more than 115 were injured in a massive explosion at a gas station in Dagestan. (AP)
