Mexico City: There was an explosion and fire at a steel plant in Mexico. 12 people died and one person was injured in the explosion at the steel plant. Local officials have given information about this. Tlaxcala State Civil Protection said the fire was reported at 3 a.m. in Acloztoc, about 140 kilometers east of Mexico City. After receiving the information, rescue teams reached the spot.

According to the information, another person has also been injured due to the blast but information about his condition has not been received. The agency said in a statement that preliminary information from workers suggested the explosion and fire were caused by molten steel coming in contact with water. At present, the fire has been brought under control and investigation is ongoing. Tlaxcala Governor Lorena Cuellar expressed her condolences to the families of the victims.
