US Elections: Indian-American Republican leaders condemned Kamala Harris on policy issues
Washington. Three Indian-American leaders associated with the Republican Party, Bobby Jindal, Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, have criticized the allegedly wrong immigration, economic and foreign policies of the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris. Former Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal claimed in a video that Harris’ Medicare plan would provide “gold-plated” health insurance to 12 million illegal immigrants. This video of Jindal is being circulated on social media as an advertisement. “This will lead to a flood of illegal immigrants into the United States,” Jindal said in a video released by the America First Policy Institute, a political working committee.
He said, “Please do not let your family and friends fall prey to these lies.” Jindal (53) was the governor of Louisiana from 2008 to 2016. In 2016, he made an unsuccessful attempt to become the presidential candidate from the Republican Party. After initially staying away from the election campaign and campaign of Donald Trump, Jindal has now become active again in supporting the former President on his policies. Apart from Jindal, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and businessman-turned-politician Vivek Ramaswamy have been in the race to become the presidential candidate.
Jindal was in the race to become the presidential candidate in 2016 and the other two in the 2024 elections. Now all three have supported Trump for the post of President. Ramaswamy has emerged as Trump’s closest confidant and is campaigning in his favor. “When I look at the issues and differences between the two candidates, there’s no doubt that I want to see Donald Trump win this election,” Haley said in an interview with Fox News on Monday. “We cannot see Kamala Harris and Tim Walz as President and Vice President, respectively,” he said. You have to see what Kamala Harris has said. She doesn’t think illegal immigrants are illegal. She thinks we should give these illegal immigrants free education, free places to live, free health care.”
Haley claimed that Harris and vice presidential candidate Walz do not have foreign policy experience. Among these three Indian-American leaders, Ramaswamy has emerged as Harris’s harshest critic. He is campaigning across the country in favor of Trump. Last week he addressed hundreds of people at his election campaign rally in Pennsylvania. In a recent interview with ‘Fox News’ he said, “There is no need to think too much about Kamala Harris. She is a radical liberal who cannot deliver results and does nothing except lie during the campaign.” Another Indian-American leader Kash Patel is among those considered close to Trump.
