America’s newly elected President Donald Trump will assume office on January 20. Trump is preparing that his first day in the White House will not only signal rapid progress towards fulfilling his election promises but will also bring radical changes in American policies. It is being told that Trump’s team is busy preparing the orders which Donald Trump is going to sign as soon as he assumes the presidency. Through these orders, not only will there be changes in all the policies and programs of the American administration, the election promises will also be fulfilled.
Apart from this, Trump is also preparing to make his swearing-in ceremony historic. It is being told that Chinese President Xi Jinping has been invited by Trump to attend this ceremony. This may be the first time in America’s history that foreign heads of state have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the President. However, by inviting Jinping, Trump has indicated that America wants to work together with its main rival China. However, considering the way Trump had been warning about increasing tariffs on many countries including China during the election campaign, this change in his stance has shocked everyone. Let us also remind you that during Trump’s first term, America’s relations with China had deteriorated significantly, especially when Trump publicly held China responsible for the origin of the Corona virus.

Regarding this, Caroline Levite, nominated by Trump as the White House Press Secretary, told Fox News in an interview that this is an example of President Trump’s open talks with the leaders of countries who are not only our allies. But also our opponents and our competitors. He said that we had seen this during his first term also. He was criticized a lot for this, but it brought peace throughout the world. He said he is willing to talk to anyone, adding that he will always put America’s interests first. However Levitt did not say whether the Chinese President had accepted the invitation. Levitte also said that many leaders from around the world have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony. However, he did not disclose the names of those countries.
On the other hand, White House National Security Advisor John Kirby told reporters, “It will depend on the newly elected President Trump as to who will sit with him at the inauguration ceremony and who will be there.” He said that we have worked really hard to improve bilateral relations. Kirby said the president also met with Xi Jinping several times, including recently. Responding to a question, Kirby said it was not within his jurisdiction to rule on invitations to the inauguration ceremony. He said it’s really up to the Trump team to see. He said that when we hand over everything to the Trump team, we will ensure that they are given complete information about whatever President Biden has done. He said that Biden has done a lot to bring the relationship between the two countries to a more stable level.
On the other hand, China has not yet clarified whether Xi Jinping will attend the ceremony or not. When asked about this, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that he had nothing to share on this matter at present.
As far as Trump’s warning to China is concerned, let us remind you that he had recently reiterated that on his first day in office in January, he would impose 25 percent tariff on all goods imported from China, Mexico and Canada. Trump had said in an interview with CNBC that we are talking and discussing with President Xi Jinping and other world leaders and I think we are going to do very well everywhere. Troubled by Trump’s warning, Xi Jinping, during a meeting with President Joe Biden in Peru last month, urged America not to start a trade war. However, now that Trump has sent an invitation to Jinping, it remains to be seen whether China takes advantage of the opportunity to improve its relations with America, which is considered the world’s largest power.
