16 drug smugglers belonging to Shahi Mahatma gang arrested in Himachal Pradesh

In Himachal Pradesh, 16 drug smugglers belonging to the notorious Shahi Mahatma gang were arrested from several places. Police gave this information on Thursday. Officials said that the arrested accused included Yashwant Singh, Pradeep Chauhan, Lalit Thakur, Aman Negi, Brij Mohan, Ravesh, Vijendra Rawat, Prashant Rathore, Sahil Thakur, Hitesh Thakur, Harsh Dhanta, Sarthak Sood, Kunal Shadru, Jatin Thakur and Shreyas. Mehta is included. All of them are residents of Rohru sub-division of Shimla district.

He informed that the arrested accused were working for Shahi Negi alias Shahi Mahatma. Shahi is the leader of a drug gang operating mainly in the upper areas of Shimla including Rohru, Jubbal, Kotkhai and Chirgaon. Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that the police arrested the drug smugglers based on intelligence and investigation of money transactions.
