The accused arrested for embezzling billions of rupees from Maharashtra has been identified as Baban Vishwanath Shind, a resident of Beed district. Police have said that during the investigation, information was found that the accused Shinde was living in Mathura in the attire of a monk for about a year. The Maharashtra Police team was searching for him in temples, ashrams, hotels, guest houses etc. According to the police, Shinde was living in disguise. When the Maharashtra Police team took the help of Mathura Police Crime Branch and Vrindavan Police, the accused was soon found.

Shinde is accused of embezzling Rs 300 crore from depositors in ‘Jijau Maa Saheb Multi State Bank’ in Beed district of Maharashtra and absconding from there. After that he came to Vrindavan for a year and lived in the guise of a saint. Shinde also has several embezzlement cases registered against him in Dharashiv district of Maharashtra in which he is wanted.
