Sambhal District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia said that four people were killed and several others were injured in the violence that broke out during the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid on November 19, following which the Sambhal district administration has taken steps to maintain peace and order. On Saturday, entry of outsiders was banned till 10th December. Rajendra Pensia said in a statement that no outsider, no social organization or any public representative can enter the district limits without the permission of the competent authority till December 10.

Akhilesh Yadav has given his reaction regarding this. He wrote on Twitter that imposing the ban is a failure of the governance, administration and government management of the BJP government. If the government had already imposed such a ban on those who dreamed of creating riots and raised crazy slogans, then the atmosphere of harmony and peace in Sambhal would not have been disturbed. The SP leader further wrote that just as the BJP changes the entire cabinet at once, in the same way the entire administrative board from top to bottom in Sambhal should be suspended, accusing them of conspiracy and negligence, and real action should be taken and they should also be dismissed. There should also be a trial for taking someone’s life.
Along with this he claimed that BJP has lost. Security has been deployed in Sambhal, UP after the stone pelting incident on November 24 regarding the Shahi Jama Masjid survey. A delegation of Samajwadi Party (SP) may arrive today. However, they are not being allowed to leave. Police have stopped Mata Prasad Pandey outside his residence in Lucknow. He said that DM Sambhal had also called me and told that the ban on entry of outsiders has been extended till December 10. So I will now go to the party office and discuss the issue before deciding on my next course of action.
After being stopped by the police at Delhi-Ghaziabad border, Samajwadi Party MP Harendra Singh Malik said that they have stopped us and are saying that the officers will talk to us. As per protocol, a Member of Parliament should be considered above the Cabinet Secretary of the Government of India. Unfortunately, we have been blocked from interacting with ACP. We are waiting for the ACP to arrive. Samajwadi Party MP Mohibbullah Nadvi said that it is very unfortunate that the police has stopped us. UP Police should have been patient when the survey (on Shahi Jama Masjid) was being conducted. Now when we are going (to Sambhal) to appeal for peace and inquire about the well being of the people, they are stopping us.

Samajwadi Party MP Zia ur Rehman Burke said that unfortunately, the police stopped us. I condemn it. Who will raise the voice of the public? If the police and administration are standing against the people then it is the responsibility of the opposition to help them. He said that we want to report the incident (Sambhal) to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. But, the government is doing all this to hide the misdeeds of the police. Burke further said that they (UP Police) forcibly stopped us and are not letting us go. The public is facing a lot of inconvenience.
