Akbaruddin Owaisi again mentioned '15 minutes' speech in Maharashtra, gave open challenge to Modi-Yogi
At an election rally in Maharashtra’s Sambhaji Nagar, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi’s younger brother Akbaruddin Owaisi responded to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s bante to kantenge slogan. Akbaruddin raised the flag of unity and urged Muslims to vote for his party. Criticizing BJP, Akbaruddin accused the ruling party of spreading politics of hatred in the name of religion. He said, ‘People are being targeted in the name of mob lynching, beef, ghar wapsi, wearing a cap and keeping a beard.

Addressing the people, Akbaruddin said that the slogan of ‘Bantege toh Kantenge’ is objectionable to many people, but I would say that in the name of beef, mob lynching, ghar wapsi, wearing a cap and keeping a beard, you are dividing the people. Is this not weakening the country? Are you not dividing the country by pitting Hindus against Muslims? I, Akbaruddin Owaisi, a Muslim, say that Narendra Modi and Yogi, this country is as much yours as it is mine.

During his speech, Akbaruddin also referred to his controversial statement from a few years ago when he had referred to “15 minutes”. Speaking at 9:45 pm, he said, “The campaign time is ending at 10 o’clock, there are still 15 minutes left.” In his speech, he sharply criticized Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Referring to AIMIM’s election symbol kites, he further said, “On November 20, there will be only ‘kites’ in the sky.” It is noteworthy that elections in Maharashtra are to be held on 20th November and counting of votes is to be done on 23rd November.
