A one and a half year old child died after falling into an open drain in Bhandup area of ​​the metropolis. A municipal body official gave this information on Monday. He told that this accident happened near Maurya Hall on Gaondevi Road at 6.20 pm on Sunday.

“Krishna Omprakash Gupta fell into the drain from a small place and was taken out to a nearby hospital after being pulled out,” the officer said. There the doctors declared him dead. The drain is open, but at some places it has been covered by residents, including the child’s family. He had left a small space open on the drain near his house to drain out the dirty water.

He told that the child fell into the drain at this very place. An official of Bhandup police station said that a case of accidental death has been registered in this regard and investigation is underway.
