Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday resumed work on the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) project here. Work was resumed after a gap of five years in Rayapudi village in the capital region.
Naidu’s project was stopped by the previous Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) government. Naidu had started the CRDA project office work in a seven-storey building at a cost of Rs 160 crore during his previous tenure between 2014-2019, but former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had dropped the idea of three capital cities between 2019 and 2024. Promoted and put the development of Amravati on hold.
The Amaravati capital project got a boost after Naidu returned to power for the second time after the 2024 elections. The decision to resume work was taken at the CRDA authority meeting on Wednesday, an official statement said on Saturday.
