Anti-Terror Conference 2024: Terrorists will be completely wiped out! Amit Shah will address anti-terrorism conference

Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will address the inaugural session of ‘Anti-Terrorism Conference-2024’ in New Delhi on Thursday. The two-day conference is being organized by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Ministry of Home Affairs. The Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to root out terrorism by adopting a policy of zero tolerance against it. Over the years the annual conference has emerged as a meeting point for operational forces; Technical, legal and forensic experts and agencies engaged in combating terrorism to deliberate on issues affecting national security and the threats posed by terrorism.

The main focus of the conference is to develop synergy among various stakeholders by establishing channels for coordinated action against the menace of terrorism in the spirit of ‘whole of government approach’ and to present concrete inputs for future policy making. The two-day conference deliberated and deliberated on various matters of importance including developing prosecution and legal frameworks in counter-terrorism investigations, sharing of experiences and good practices, challenges and opportunities related to emerging technologies, international legal cooperation and strategies. Senior police officers from States/UTs, officers from central agencies/departments dealing with issues related to counter-terrorism and experts from related fields like law, forensics, technology etc. are participating in the conference. Last year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had asked state police forces and counter-terrorism agencies to adopt a “brutal” approach to ensure that no new terrorist groups are formed.

Sharing some of the key issues in the list, a Home Ministry source said that the NIA has decided that it will share the details of the Rameshwaram cafe blast case including how it happened, how the accused escaped their arrest and the details of NIA’s investigation. All director generals of central armed police forces, state police chiefs, senior officers of anti-terrorism squads and central government officials have been invited to the two-day conference at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan.
