Arson and disturbance continued in Bahraich for the second day today

Instead of subsiding, the ruckus that broke out during the Durga idol immersion procession in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh is taking a more violent form, due to which violence once again broke out in the district on Monday. This happened when people attending the funeral procession of youth Ram Gopal Mishra, who was killed in firing by fundamentalists, set fire to some vehicles and shops. Villagers came out on the streets with sticks. When the protests turned violent, the police fired tear gas shells and lathicharged. District Magistrate Monica Rani said that we are trying to control the situation.

According to sources, in view of the worsening situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered ADG (Law and Order) and STF Chief Amitabh Yash to immediately go to Bahraich. Also sought a report on the matter.

Then, when the DJ was playing in front of the mosque, the people of Muslim community first pelted stones and then opened fire, due to which 22-year-old Ram Gopal Mishra, resident of Rehua Mansoor village, died due to bullet injury. This spread anger in the district. There was arson and stone pelting along with the protest against this. The Haredi police lathicharged the protesting Hindu community members. There was chaos in the village when the body reached home in the early morning after post-mortem amid tight security. People became angry. Thousands of people from nearby gathered on the spot. Thousands of people along with family members walked towards the tehsil complex carrying the dead body. The villagers were demanding hanging of the criminals and bulldozing action on the house.
