Ascension of a silent ascetic Shriyut Shrigopal Ji Vyas
Adarsh Swayamsevak, former Rajya Sabha member and senior worker of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Shriyut Shrigopal ji Vyas passed away at 6:45 am on Friday after prolonged illness.

He breathed his last at the age of 93. He was born on 15 February 1932 in Raipur. He took an engineering degree from Jabalpur and served as a senior engineer in Bhilai Steel Plant.

He became a volunteer of the Sangh in his childhood itself. After that, Shri Gopal ji discharged various responsibilities like Province Karyawah, Province Pracharak, Area Pracharak etc. When he was working in Bhilai Steel Plant, he was the provincial caretaker. Then he took VRS from his job and dedicated his entire life to the service of the Sangh. He was the provincial campaigner of Mahakaushal province. He was the All India Joint General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Vyas ji also traveled on foot from Jabalpur to Raipur to expand the work of the Sangh. The Sangh reached every village and every house and made efforts for this. Was in jail during emergency from 1975 to 1977. He studied law while in jail during the Emergency. His entire life was one of sacrifice. He was a person who stuck to his principles. He never compromised with the circumstances. He considered Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as supreme in his life.

He had only two jobs, a job and union work. People who worked with him remember him as a saint. He was friendly. Whoever he met, he met with great love. People never felt that they were meeting him for the first time. He was a tireless volunteer of the Sangh.

He was also a member of Rajya Sabha from Chhattisgarh from 2006 to 2012. I had a close association with him for six years in the Rajya Sabha in Delhi. I have never seen simplicity like his. The example of generous heart and simplicity was deeply embedded in him. Despite the family’s financial condition being extremely weak, he always spent his salary and allowances on others. I lost my son Munnu untimely in my life as a preacher. I had talked to respected Sushila sister-in-law, daughter-in-law and grandson Harsh Vyas two days ago, then they told me that Baba is seriously ill. Maybe we won’t survive now. I was shocked to hear this. The destiny of nature will also be here only. The guidance I received from him as a full-time worker of the Student Council since 1990, I still stand by that.

You will find many examples of his simple life. After returning from his life as a preacher, he even opened a stationery and grocery shop at his residence in Raipur so that he could earn his living honestly. He never extended his hand to anyone else. While being a Rajya Sabha MP, he was present full time. When he was an MP in Delhi, he used to travel by auto only. His attire consisted only of dhoti, kurta, jacket, muffler and cap consisting of two or three pairs of clothes. He never kept a car for himself and even if someone else arranged for a car, he would refuse it.

The day he became a Rajya Sabha member, the then government minister in Delhi, Hon. According to the information of Mohan Bhagwat ji, Late. Bal came to Apte ji (MP) and I got all his parliamentary procedures completed in the Parliament House. From there he was temporarily given a room in Chhattisgarh Bhawan, but the Chhattisgarh government official refused to give him a room there. Due to which later we took him to Janpath Hotel Janpath and there he was given a room whose rent for 7 days was one lakh fifty thousand rupees, then he realized that this government’s money would be wasted. He kept the luggage because as part of the pre-arranged stay program, he had to go on a trip to Nepal with the then General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Acharya Giriraj Kishore ji. He had an ordinary sleeper class ticket in the Swatantrata Senani train from Old Delhi, which must have been booked two months ago, and he traveled on the same. Although we said that now that you have become a Rajya Sabha MP, you can travel in first class, he said that no, we have already made this ticket and I will go on this. On the way, he called me and told me to vacate the hotel rent that the Secretariat had paid for us and in its place I would stay in a Dharamshala in Old Delhi. Because these Rs 1,50,000, the Naxalites of Chhattisgarh had given the money to the soldiers. murder, this amount should be given to his family members and he wrote a letter to the General Secretary of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat regarding this on a post card. There was a stir and while searching for me Came near because my mobile and address were registered in his contact. He said who is this MP who has written such a letter? Such was our Shri Gopal Vyas ji and the first thing he did after returning to Delhi was to vacate the Janpath Hotel. He took all the literature received from Rajya Sabha to Vishwa Hindu Parishad office in RK Puram. Not only was his regular presence in the Rajya Sabha, his speeches in fluent Sanskrit, Hindi and English used to inspire everyone. He used to wear such simple clothes and slippers that even security personnel used to stop him on the way. He felt that an elderly person was coming here. As an MP, his residence at 145, North Avenue was always open to everyone. One or two rooms had become the residence of the workers of the Special Contact Department of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. His colleagues Mukesh Shukla, Bharat Singh, Pradeep Sariwan and Sanjeev Adhikari are in deep mourning.

Even after leaving the world, he was concerned about the society, that is why his body will be donated as per his wish. May God grant salvation to the departed soul. Our family pays our humble tribute to our tirelessly dedicated worker.
