Baba Siddique Murder Case. Maharashtra politics heats up, Congress-Shiv Sena leaders demand Fadnavis' resignation
The murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui has put the law and order situation of Maharashtra in the dock. Leaders of opposition parties are continuously targeting Shinde government and demanding his resignation. Let us tell you that on Saturday, Baba Siddiqui was shot dead with several rounds. This is the first case in the last three decades, when a high profile leader has been murdered in this manner in Maharashtra.
Sanjay Raut demanded Governor’s intervention
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, reacting to the Baba Siddiqui murder case, has demanded the removal of Devendra Fadnavis from the post of Home Minister. He said, ‘This is the failure of the Chief Minister, the way the police is being used for his own interests, it is the result of this that there is no fear of law and police and thus murders are taking place in broad daylight. Till now we have been saying that Devendra Fadnavis has failed as Home Minister, he should resign but now it is not just a matter of resignation. The Governor should intervene and remove Devendra Fadnavis from the post of Home Minister.

Law and order has completely broken down: Priyanka Chaturvedi
On the case of Baba Siddiqui murder, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, ‘Baba Siddiqui was a very respected leader. Apart from politics, he had good relations with all the people… This incident shows that our law and order situation in Maharashtra has completely broken down. If we look at the developments, he had said 15 days ago that he was being threatened. He was also given Y-category security but still such a big failure, his murder in an area like Bandra shows the failure of law and order. This is very unfortunate. What has happened to our Mumbai Police? Which is considered all over the world. You have left Maharashtra in a place where there is neither law and order nor justice system, only looting is taking place.

Vijay Wadettiwar responded
Leader of opposition in Maharashtra Assembly and Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar said on this matter, ‘He was our good friend. What happened yesterday is very sad. Today two people have been arrested, the police is investigating but we say that the law has been flouted in Mumbai. If a leader of the ruling party is murdered in this way, it means that there is a big question on the security of the common man. The question is arising whether Mumbai is becoming a crime hub again? In view of the increasing crime rate in Maharashtra, Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis should resign.
