Baba Siddiqui's son Zeeshan joins Ajit Pawar's party, gets ticket as soon as he joins the party
Before the Maharashtra Assembly elections, a big change has been seen in the politics of the state. Before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of late NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, has joined Ajit Pawar faction’s CP. Congress MLA from Bandra East seat Zeeshan Siddiqui has announced to contest the elections on behalf of CP this time. Varun Desai is contesting from Bandra East on behalf of Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray Party, which is part of Maha Vikas Aghadi, against Zeeshan Siddiqui.
Zeeshan got ticket from NCP
After joining NCP, Ajit Pawar has given ticket to Zeeshan Siddiqui from Bandra East. Nishikant Patil has been fielded from Islampur, Sanjaykaka Ramchandra Patil from Tasgaon-Kavathe Mahakal, Sana Malik from Anushakti Nagar, Sunil Tingre from Vadgaon Sheri, Dnyaneshwar (Mauli) Katke from Shirur, Pratap Patil from Loha.
Zeeshan targeted Shiv Sena
Maharashtra’s Bandra East seat MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui has criticized Shiv Sena’s (UBT) decision to field candidates in his constituency for the upcoming assembly elections, saying it was never in his nature to live together. Recently, MLA Zeeshan has been suspended from Congress for ‘cross voting’ in the Legislative Council elections. The Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (SP) are constituents of the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Zeeshan’s father Baba Siddiqui had joined NCP from Congress earlier this year. He was shot dead in Bandra earlier this month. Zeeshan has not yet clarified his political move.
He wrote on ‘X’, “Heard that old friends have declared their candidate from Bandra East. It was never in their nature to live together. Maintain relationships only with those who respect you.” He also said that now only the public will decide. Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) released its first list of 65 candidates for the assembly elections on Wednesday evening, in which Varun Sardesai has been named the candidate from Bandra East. Elections for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly will be held on November 20 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.
