Police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district have seized illegal tobacco products worth more than Rs 15 lakh and arrested a person in this connection. An official gave this information on Friday.
The officer said that this seizure action was taken in Talasari area. Palghar Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Balasaheb Patil said that a patrol team checked a tempo parked on the ‘Service Road’ of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on suspicion of carrying illegal substances and recovered banned tobacco products from it. He told that the price of tobacco products is Rs 15.66 lakh. The police seized the tempo and arrested its driver.
