Three people were killed and at least 14 workers are feared trapped after an under-construction building collapsed in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The incident occurred amid heavy rains in Hennur area of ​​the city. Fire and emergency services sources have confirmed that they have recovered three bodies. Rescue operations are still underway to find survivors or bodies. The incident took place on Tuesday in Babusaab Palya area of ​​the city. At least 17 people are feared trapped after a building collapsed in Horamavu Agara area in the eastern part of Bengaluru. The rescue operation is going on.
According to preliminary investigation, the entire building collapsed after which people were trapped beneath it, a fire department official told PTI. Two rescue vans of fire and emergency department have been deployed in the rescue operation. The building collapsed on a day when it rained heavily in many parts of the city. Five teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were deployed to rescue stranded people in the country’s IT capital on Tuesday. North Bengaluru was worst affected by the rain as many areas in and around Yelahanka were flooded.

According to the Bruhat Bengaluru Municipal Corporation, Yelahanka received 157 mm (six inches) of rain in just six hours from Tuesday midnight to 6 am on Tuesday. The central vihar of Yelahanka was waist-deep in water. Rescue workers saved the people with the help of dollies. Normal life got disrupted in North Bengaluru due to waterlogging. People thought it better to stay indoors, while many passengers missed their flights, trains and buses. In the areas where there were floods, children were not able to go to school. Many houses in low-lying areas and near lakes were submerged.
