A youth leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was shot dead following a dispute over parking issue in Jammu on Friday. Police gave this information.
District President of BJP Yuva Morcha in Jammu, Kanav Sharma, was injured by the bullet and has been admitted to the hospital. Kanav’s father senior advocate Chandra Mohan Sharma told the media that his condition is stable.
Kanav was parking his vehicle near his house in New Plot area when some people objected to it and an argument broke out between the two parties.
According to Chandra Mohan Sharma, one of the people arguing took out his revolver and fired two rounds, one of which hit Kanav.
Kanav has been actively involved in the anti-narcotics campaign in Jammu.
Police have seized the motorcycle of one of the accused and are trying to trace those involved in the firing, officials said.
