Pune MP Muralidhar Mohol may emerge as the unanimous candidate for Maharashtra Chief Minister. Political sources have indicated this. However Mohol is not widely known outside political circles. But now the discussion about his name has intensified. Maratha Muralidhar Mohol has deep roots in the RSS. Mohol, an active member of the organization, is also a member of BJP. He previously served as the Mayor of Pune and currently serves as the Civil Aviation Minister in the Modi government.Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperation.

While the name of Devendra Fadnavis is being discussed, names like Vinod Tawde and Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil are also being considered. However, there are speculations that this time a leader with deep roots in the original BJP and RSS will be considered. This has been proved by the recent changes made in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, where unexpected leadership decisions were taken for the broader goal of progress of the party. At present Fadnavis’s name is in discussion for BJP President.
Amidst the discussions, Muralidhar Mohol has rejected all the news on X. He said that my name is being discussed continuously on social media for the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra, which is not true news. We fought under the leadership of BJP. Our leader is Devendra Fadnavis. The decisions of our party are not taken through social media, but by consensus in the parliamentary board. Once the decision is taken in the Parliamentary Board, the final decision of the party is supreme for all. Therefore discussing my name on social media is meaningless.

Out of 288 assembly seats in the state, Mahayuti alliance got a huge mandate of 230 seats. The BJP won 132 seats, while its allies – the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena – won 57 seats, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP won 41 seats. Despite securing a historic mandate, the Mahayuti alliance is still undecided on its chief minister seven days after counting of votes. Speculations are rife that Eknath Shinde is dissatisfied as the BJP seems reluctant to appoint him. Alternative names like Vinod Tawde and Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil are also being considered.
