Ruksana alias ‘Scooty Didi’ arrested
Police raided Shekhbari colony under Jaleshwar police station area of Balasore district of Odisha. During this time, the police has arrested the notorious brown sugar smuggler Ruksana Bibi alias ‘Scooty Didi’. During this period, the police have arrested 55.26 grams of brown sugar, whose value in the international market is said to be Rs 5.50 lakh. Police also recovered Rs 8700 in cash in this raid. The action was led by Jaleshwar SDP, which included a 15-member police team. Jaleshwar’s SDPO said that we conducted the raid on the basis of secret information. During the operation, success was achieved in arresting Ruksana.
Police arrested lady smuggler
Let us tell you that many cases are already registered against Ruksana and she used to run a network of supply of brown sugar in the area. According to the information, Ruksana is with her brother-in-law S.K. Along with Rashid, she brought brown sugar from Murshidabad in West Bengal and supplied it to Jaleshwar and surrounding areas. According to police records, two years ago West Bengal STF had arrested SK Rashid from Kolkata. At that time, a large quantity of heroin, Rs 10 lakh in cash and a car were seized from him. SDPO said that both Ruksana’s brother-in-law and husband were part of this smuggling network.
Ruksana’s parents were also arrested
He told that both have already been arrested and they are currently lodged in Alipore jail in West Bengal. But Ruksana continued the smuggling operation using the scooter. Jaleshwar police has also arrested Ruksana’s parents. Who were helping him in this work. During the raid, the police also collected important clues from the hideouts of the accused. Jaleshwar SDPO said, ‘Our action against the brown sugar mafia will continue. This arrest is an important step towards dismantling this network.
