In view of the corona virus crisis, the government has announced that it will provide cheaper ration to the people for the next three months. This decision has been taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will benefit around 80 crore families holding ration cards. For the next three months, rice will be available at Rs 3 per kg, wheat at Rs 2 per kg at ration shops.

Apart from this, the Union Cabinet has also approved the establishment of new regional rural banks. Also, the recapitalization of these banks has also been approved.

Relief for the textile sector
In the cabinet meeting held today, it was decided to give relief to the textile sector. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the period of tax exemption on garment exports has been extended. Tax exemption on garment exports will continue even after April 1.

Regional Rural Bank approved
In view of the corona virus, the cabinet has also approved the creation of Regional Rural Bank. A plan of Rs 1340 crore has been made for Regional Rural Bank.

Lockdown support
Prakash Javadekar said that the lockdown has been done for 21 days across the country, which is also getting support from the public. All state governments are working closely with the Center. A system has been created for daily wage laborers to deal with the difficulties arising out of the lockdown. In this, every state government has taken an initiative to help. He also said that the salary of any contract worker will not stop.

Prakash Javadekar, while giving an example of some places, has appealed to the public to exercise caution and to obey the social distancing. He appealed to clean his hands again and again. If there is no sanitizer, then clean the hands with soap. Shop for goods one by one at the shops. Do not crowd any ration shop. He said that this is an opportunity to spend time with family, but it is important to take care of social distancing.
