Chhatrapati family's daughter-in-law was insulted, Congress leader Satej Patil gave objectionable statement, getting criticized
Congress party MLA Satej Patil has given a big statement. He has given a big statement regarding Sneha Madhurima Raje, a descendant of the Chhatrapati family, who has decided not to contest the assembly elections. After giving this statement, Congress MLA Satej Patil has come under target.
Not only this, a debate has started regarding the treatment being given to the children of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is noteworthy that Shivaji Maharaj’s family is considered respectable. Even the credit for the establishment of Hindu Swaraj goes to him. His legacy is considered very important in the cultural and historical landscape of Maharashtra. Now the Congress MLA has commented on the descendant of the royal family. Due to this statement a new controversy has arisen.
Chhatrapati was insulted earlier also
Although this is not the first incident, this has been the pattern of opposition parties, leaders of Congress and Mahavikas Aghadi have been accused of disrespect towards the Chhatrapati dynasty. In which big leaders like Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut have also made derogatory comments earlier. This incident has exposed the ongoing political tension in Maharashtra ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024. The stage was set for Patil’s critical comments with Madhurima Raje’s withdrawal from the election due to the continuation of the candidature of rebel Congress candidate from Kolhapur North constituency.
These comments have been widely condemned as an insult to Madhurima Raje and the entire Chhatrapati family, leading to public calls for an unconditional apology from Patil.
The feeling of respect for the Chhatrapati family runs very deep in Maharashtra, with great reverence being shown to the throne of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, currently represented by MP Udayan Maharaj in Satara and MP Shahu Maharaj in Kolhapur.
